ROMANO VALENTE

Romano Valente, a Neapolitan engineer, has been working in the car business for almost 35 years in positions of growing responsibility. After graduating in Mechanical Engineering and a Master in Manufacturing Engineering, he joined Alfa Romeo in the joint venture with Nissan as  Quality liaison between the two brands. Thanks to the frequent, positive contact with the commercial area and dealers, after three years, in 1988 he was appointed as sales area manager in South Itally.  In 1988 he mived to Arese as Product Marketing Manager in Alfa Romeo to manage Alfa 33, then Alfa 75, on European markets until the launch of Alfa 155. In 1992 he was appointed by Honda Automobili Italia to handle Marketing of the After Sales; in 1996 he was nominated Head of Press and Public Relations, lately becoming Director of Marketing and Communication. In 2001 he returned to Fiat Group with Lancia's global responsibility. In 2003, he went to Paris as the International Marketing Director of a gas multinational for industrial applications. Upon his return to Italy in 2004, he was appointed as General manager of Suzuki Italia's car division reaching a great growth (+48%) in 4 years, that led him to be nominated the 2007 "Interauto News" Manager of the year. In 2009 he was called in the Hyundai italian subsidiary as Vice President and Managing Director to double sales and share in two years. In 2011 he returned to Fiat Group as Sales Director of Europe and Japan markets. Since 2012 he has been the General Manager of UNRAE, the Association of Foreign Car Makers operating in Italy.
