AGE Platform Europe - ERPB WS  Former Secretary General AGE Platform Europe, Co-chair ERPB WS on Communication Strategy on Instant Payments (consumers)

From 2002 to 2020, Ms. Parent was Secretary General of AGE Platform Europe (AGE), a network of 100 organisations representing some 40 million seniors across Europe in 27 EU Member States, Norway and Switzerland. AGE aims to promote older persons’ rights at EU and UN level and voice the interests of the 200 million inhabitants aged 50+ who live in the EU. Since 2014 Ms. Parent has been representing AGE in the Euro Retail Payment Board (ERPB), holding one of the two seats reserved to consumers. Although she retired in 2020, Ms Parent continues to represent AGE in the ERPB to bring the voice of older consumers on issues of relevance for the European ageing population: she has co-chaired the ERPB Working Group on access to and acceptance of Cash in 2021, and the ERPB workstream on Communication Strategy on Instants Payments for end-users in 2022. From 2010 to 2020, Ms. Parent was a member of the Financial Services Users Group (FSUG) set up by the European Commission (DG FISMA and DG JUST) and chaired the FSUG from 2018-2020. She was also a member of the EU High-Level Group of Experts on Pensions set up by the European Commission (DG EMPL) which delivered a report analysing the role of supplementary pensions in contributing to adequacy of old age incomes and the development of their market in the EU (2019).
